In spring of 1998, the Manitoba Government invited Concordia Hospital to build a personal care home next to the hospital. The hospital accepted the invitation, and through the coordinated efforts of the Concordia Foundation, generous sponsors,
and many donations, on May 10th, 2000, Concordia Place opened as a long-term care facility with 140 beds.[hr]
