As a charitable organization, the Concordia Foundation is dedicated to preserving the high quality of health and wellness services provided by Concordia (Concordia Hospital, Concordia Place, Concordia Hip & Knee Institute, Concordia Wellness Projects and Concordia Village). Concordia Foundation connects health and housing needs to community resources by building awareness, generating commitment, and inviting financial contributions.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors devotes its time to review the organization’s goals and resources. Through the generous support of individuals and corporations, we’re able to continue our ongoing efforts to build a better future for you, your family, and your community.
There is an increasing recognition in health that indicators of clinical deterioration such as abnormal vital signs are being missed. Evidence also suggests a lack of organization and knowledge regarding how to manage clinical deterioration. Studies show that 85% of all in-hospital cardiac arrests are preceded by undetected signs of deterioration.
Mena Gainpaulsingh was in her teens when she first learned that she had a degenerative condition that prevented the ball and socket in her right hip from working properly.
At first, the condition did not pose too much of a problem.
But by the time the 47-year-old Winnipeg woman entered her twenties, the condition started to take its toll. Not only did she start to experience chronic pain, she also developed a slight limp.
In spring of 1998, the Manitoba Government invited Concordia Hospital to build a personal care home next to the hospital. The hospital accepted the invitation, and through the coordinated efforts of the Concordia Foundation, generous sponsors,

With the generous support of donors and significant grants received from The Winnipeg Foundation and the Sir Thomas Cropo Foundation,
Thanks to Concordia Wellness Projects Inc., through careful planning and ongoing generous support, construction was completed in 2009 and the Concordia Hip & Knee Institute celebrated its grand opening September, 2009.
With the support of many donors, construction was completed to the 11,000 square feet community clinic, a metrology lab and health information services. Construction was completed June 2013.
